Some just roll up their pant legs and make a run for it.
Yesterday was the first day of the school year. Unfortunately, it started raining the night before and rained almost continuously throughout the day. The school grounds were soaked, and there were puddles and mud in every place imaginable. What a mess!
Most of the kids walk to school and they were pretty soaked by the time of their arrival. A large number have umbrellas and others resorted to large black plastic for the body and/or plastic grocery bags for the feet.
As it was not cold outside, the rain did not deter the kids from having a happy first day. A few of them just might have a little explaining to do at home regarding some muddy uniforms. Playing tag in the rain during break was probably not the best game choice for the day.
