The kids at the primary school often walk around in pairs or large groups with arms draped over shoulders. Sometimes they even make a game of it by running around the school yard in such “connected” groups of 5-10 kids, weaving in and around other groups.
It is actually more common to see kids walking together with arms over shoulders or holding hands (a later blog topic) than side by side without touching at all. What amazes me the most is that they continue to do this even when the temps climb well into the 90s. I guess the comfort and sense of togetherness outweighs the discomfort of hot and sweaty.
