Truly hard to capture in pictures what the ant “situation” is here. Basically, almost any time I am standing or walking outside, I am stepping on or over one or more ants. They are just about everywhere.
The ants are tiny, and don’t seem to bite. That is fortunate because I have looked down numerous times only to see 1-10 ants crawling across my feet (in sandals). If I am standing in one place for more than a few seconds, I have learned to stomp my feet every now and then.
On the other hand, ants have provided us hours of amusement. They will appear, find and go after a crumb of food or dead roach in a heartbeat. With little else to do most evenings, we have spent quite a bit of time watching a group of ants carrying away a kernel of popped corn or dead bugs. Yes, we are easily amused, but don’t knock it until you’ve watched 15-20 ants carrying a dead roach up the vertical part of a stair step! Naturally entertaining.
